Lemon Basil Rice Bowl: A Zesty Lunch Idea

Prepare the Rice:

• Cook the rice and let it cool slightly. Ensure the grains are separate and fluffy.

Season the Rice:

• Heat olive oil or ghee in a large pan on medium heat.
• Add mustard seeds and let them crackle. Stir in the green chilies and turmeric powder. Sauté for 30 seconds.

Add the Lemon Basil:

• Lower the heat and add the fresh Lemon Basil leaves. Stir gently to release their aroma without overcooking.

Mix the Rice:

• Add the cooked rice to the pan, followed by salt. Gently toss the rice to combine with the seasoning and herbs.

Finish with Lemon Juice:

• Turn off the heat and drizzle fresh lemon juice over the rice. Mix well.

Garnish and Serve:

• Sprinkle roasted peanuts on top for a crunchy texture. Serve warm in a bowl.

Serving Suggestions:

• Pair with yogurt or a side of fresh salad for a complete meal.
• Add grilled vegetables or protein (like tofu, paneer, or chicken) to make it more filling.

Pro Tip:

Eewa Farms’ Lemon Basil provides a unique citrusy flavor that pairs perfectly with the tang of lemon juice. Adjust the spice level with more or fewer chilies based on your preference.
